Exporting Components

VU Collaborate allows instructors to export all or part of the course components to a ZIP package. This is a very useful tool for instructors to preserve the materials for use at a future date or to share the content with other instructors within VU Collaborate. The following documentation demonstrates the process of exporting course components/contents to ZIP file.

Step One: Space Administration

Log into the space you wish to export content into. From Space Admin click on Import/Export/Copy Components.


Step Two: Import / Export / Copy Components

Choose Export Components (Leave the default Course Files setting). 

Note: No student data or user data will be exported across.

Step Three: Select Course Material

Select the course materials you would like to export:

  • Select All Components : Check this option if you would like to Export All course materials and activities
  • If  you select individual components, for each component you have two options; Export All items or Select individual items to export

Step Four: Choose individual items

If you chose to export selected individual items, the system will lead you through a series of screens(one for each component selected) where you can make your selections. On each screen, make the desired selections then click Continue

Step Five: Confirm Components to Export

Make sure the checkbox Include course files in the export package is selected, then click Continue.

Click Finish once the export has been processed.

Step Seven: Download Zip package

Download ZIP package

Make sure to click the link "Click here to download the export Zip package" to download the ZIP file to your computer.

After you have downloaded the file, click Done. This will take you back to the start of Import/Export/Copy Components screen, or click any other link to go to the desired tool in your VU Collaborate space.
