dropbox-01-01Introducing VU Collaborate Assessment Dropbox


The VU Collaborate Assessment Dropbox tool enables students to submit assignments online, making it easy to keep track of assessments and keep up with reporting. Using the Assessment Dropbox tool you can:

  • Link to Grades and Rubrics for grading and feedback
  • Enable originality checking through Turnitin
  • Fully customise availability and release conditions
  • Create individual or group assessment dropboxes

Finding Dropbox

You can access the Assessment Dropbox tool from the Assessments menu in the navbar.



Dropbox Folder Properties


  1. New Folder – create a new folder which represents the dropbox for 1 assessment item
  2. More Actions – to preview, re-order and delete folders
  3. Dropbox Category – folders can be categorised to help keep things organised
  4. Dropbox Folder name – click here to edit folder properties
  1. icons bulk editBulk Edit – to edit multiple dropbox folders at one time
  2. Icons - originality check, release condition, grade item icons will appear if associated with this folder
  3. Files statistics - total files submitted, unread files, flagged files, due date

New Folder Properties



On the Properties Tab

  1. Enable Turnitin
  2. Assign folder to an Individual or a Group
  3. Create a Dropbox Category
  4. Assign a Grade Item
  5. Out of – value the dropbox folder will be graded out of
  6. Add a Rubric

On the Restrictions Tab

  1. Assign Start Date, Due Date and End Date
  2. Add Release Conditions
