Creating an Assessment Dropbox
Assessment Dropbox tool allows you to create an online submission area where students can submit their assignments. This tool enables you to keep track of assessments and to mark them easily. This guide demonstrates how you can create Assessment Dropbox, set due dates and activate originality check with Turnitin.
Step 1: Access Assessment Dropbox
- Click Assessments in the navbar.
- Click Assessment Dropbox
- Once you are in the Assessment Dropbox area, click New Folder.
Step 2: Create a New Folder
New Folder - Properties Tab
This is the snapshop of the Properties tab. The following steps are found on this same page.
New Folder - Name
Name the folder
Choose a type of Folder:
- Individual submission
- Group submission
If the type is Group, then choose the group category from the Group Category.
Choose a Category.
Tip: If you don’t have one set up, you can create one from [New Category]. This category can organise your assessment items.
Choose a Grade Item from the Gradebook that you would like to associate.
Tip: if you don’t have one set up, you can create one from [New Grade Item]
Type in the maximum score, if you have associated this dropbox with a grade item.
Student View Preview
Select Student View Preview. Click on the arrow to give you a pop up.
Select the options that you want students to view.
Add Rubric if you have one already.
Tip: if you don’t have one set up, you can create one from [Create Rubric in New Window].
Tip: If you set up your default rubric, choose one from the dropdown menu.
Write Instructions if/as appropriate.
My ePortfolio Artefacts
Tick the box if you want to allow students to add this folder to their ePortfolio.
Click Add a File to attach a file (e.g. word doc).
Step 3: Set Due Dates
Click on Restrictions
- Availability - Assign Start Date, Due Date and End Date as appropriate
- Release Conditions – add if any
- Special Access - choose appropriate settings.
- Save and Close.
